1. Will the Makerspace still be available for other teachers and students during this project?
Yes, the Makerspace lunch challenges, ECAs and everyday class booking of the Makerspace will continue.
2. Why is this project only available to certain classes?
Improvement science is based on gathering evidence before programs are implemented. That means gathering a sample size that is large enough for good data, but small enough not to tax budgets or end up being paltry program implementation in the ruse of data collection.
3. How will this benefit the 68 learners involved?
By developing autonomy, mastery and purpose we are providing opportunities to develop the top 10 skills needed for the Fourth Industrial Revolution and that Universities are looking for in 2017.
4. How will this benefit all learners at our school? By using Improvement Science to gauge the effectiveness of aligning service learning, design thinking, makerspace as well as how they enhance our current curriculum we will bring better alignment between silos of learning at school. This will provide a model of how it can be done for other teachers, and other communities.
